Consecration of Heritage Chapter Rose Croix 1220

Monday 11th September 2023 was a special day for the District of Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire and especially for Freemasonry in Corby with the consecration of Heritage Chapter Rose Croix 1220.

The Sovereign Grand Commander and three other members of The Supreme Council conducted the consecration ceremony. They were assisted by the Grand Director of Ceremonies, the Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies, the Grand Organist, and the Grand Outer Guard.

The Founding Members of Heritage 1220 CRC

E & P Bro Stephen Burton (5th from RHS, front) had the honour of being obligated and installed as the Chapters First Most Wise Sovereign by Most Puissant Bro John Boyington CBE, Sovereign Grand Commander.

Eminent brethren including the Provincial Grand Master of the Craft, Right Worshipful Bro. Mark Constant, Very Illustrious Past Inspector Generals from our own District, Rev Tony Avery and Barrie Hall, accompanied by current Very Illustrious Inspectors General from other Districts were in the attendance to witness this rare and very special ceremony that numbered 97, the majority of which stayed for an excellent consecration Lunch.

Most Puissant Bro. John Boyington CBE, Sovereign Grand Commander, expressed his delight with the day and thanked all for their participation in the Formation of this Chapter. He wished everyone well and thanked all for making the time to attend.

The Inspector General for the District, V.lll. Bro. John Booth, expressed delight that the new Chapter had finally arrived. He congratulated the founding members and in particular Excellent and Perfect Prince Steve Burton, 18th Degree for the hard and somewhat difficult and arduous work in preparation and representation that has taken place for over nearly 3 years He also thanked neighbouring Chapters in the way in which they had supported and welcomed the foundation Heritage CRC 1220.

He was also very much relieved to now have 14 Chapters under his jurisdiction rather than 13, which is a rather unlucky number in our Order.

Arthur March – 50th Year Certificate Presentation.

Any Enthronement evening is always a special event. The Enthronement of E&P Bro, Derek Watts as Most Wise Sovereign took place on 22nd November 2022, At Peverel Chapter Rose Croix Chapter 522 and did not disappoint!

However, there was more in store this evening and V. Ill. Bro. Barrie Hall, presented Ill. Bro, Arthur March with his 50th year Anniversary Certificate, along with a message from the Sovereign Grand Commander,  M. P. Bro Guy Elgood, 330

Barrie gave a fascinating history of Arthur, who has accomplished so much in life. Arthur is currently 96 years old and 97 next month and still remains very active in his Masonry.

District Lunch at Stamford

A great time was had by all who attended our District Lunch. A traditional Sunday Lunch, prepared by the Centre’s excellent Chef, Ill. Bro. Andy from Good Intent Chapter, who hosted the event, Andy and his merry team were on top form and the meal was enjoyed by all.

V.Ill. Bro John Booth, current Inspector General, was accompanied by his immediate predecessor V.Ill Bro. Rev. Tony Avery and his predecessor V.Ill Bro. Barrie Hall John commented that in respect of the long tenure of his predecessor’s, 10 years for Barrie and 15 years for Tony, that he himself by comparison was still at the beginning of a wonderful journey in his position.

The occasion also raised £150 for the charity Teddies for Loving Care.

On behalf of the District, special thanks to Ill. Bro Ian McLachan, District Recorder and the helpers of Good Intent CRC 951, for making this event happen.

Mercia CRC – Virtual Social Meeting, 21/10/2020

It was with pleasure that I received an invitation to attend a social meeting on the same evening that Mercia CRC would normally meet by the Chapter Recorder Ill Bro Mike Coleman, who hosted the meeting in great chat show mode. A much enjoyable 30 minutes of catching up with members who attended and with the well being of a few that couldn’t make it. Ill Bro Michael Branch updated us with the Kettering Masonic Centre news which was refreshingly upbeat in these difficult times. A few ideas were shared in keeping in touch with members and with much good banter and a ‘burglar’ in the room, the time went all too quickly. Thank you Mercia and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
